English play (135 mins)
Sunday, 19th – 5.00 pm & 7.30 pm
This production, one of the company’s most visual pieces, has played for 75 shows across various national and international festivals. It comprises of three great stories, dramatised for the stage by the director and actors, that reveal the depth and scope of some of India’s finest women writers. From Wajeda Tabassum’s sharply penetrative Utran, Mahasweta D…evi’s riveting and savagely moving Shishu, to Gita Mehta’s hauntingly poignant tale The Teacher’s Story, here are three powerful and distinct Womanly Voices, that go far beyond hearth and home, and illuminate the world around them with humour, insight and a rare compassion.
