An Exhibition on Mumbai’s Reserved Public Open Spaces in partnership with Hathautee
Venue : Members Pavilion Lawns, Mahalaxmi Racecourse
(Entrance from Governor’s Gate)
The purpose of this exhibition is to not just create greater awareness of the Mumbaikar’s right to open spaces in the city, information that is otherwise not easily accessible, but also to provide an engagement platform, where responsible citizens can choose to actively participate in the movement to save our open spaces.
The exhibits will show some of the endangered reserved public open spaces and share stories of how citizen stakeholder action has led to their protection.
The examples that will be shared are part of a survey conducted by CitiSpace. Qualified architects assisted by a team of architecture students physically visited and surveyed over 1000 Reserved Open Spaces shown in the Development Plan of Greater Mumbai. The Survey details include complete photographic evidence as compared to the Development Plan, a sketched layout of the area and an in-depth audit of the situation.
We know you are a friend of the city of Mumbai, and we look forward to meeting you this coming weekend at the exhibit.
