Location: Kasara.
Height: Approx 120 feet
Grade: Medium.
Rappelling (English Name) also known as abseiling (German Name) is a method of a quick and safe descend after a climb. It’s an act of descending a mountain face by sliding down a rope, which is attached to a body harness and fastened to an overhead projection, with sufficient friction provided as to make the speed of descent controllable.
The only difference here is we will be rappelling down through a flowing waterfall, pouring water on us as we come down.
It’s the best exercise to overcome the fear of height. Feel the thrill of suspension at the height of about 100 feet’s. Come experience the incredible feeling of success and accomplishment when you touch the ground.

Jagdish Nanavati, the President Emeritus of the Himalayan Club, passed away on 29th June 2011
JAGDISH NANAVATI
(1928-2011)
Jagdish Nanavati, the President Emeritus of the Himalayan Club, passed away on 29th June 2011 at Mumbai. He was cremated the same evening – family, friends and Himalayan Club members paid their heartfelt tributes.
His service to our Club cannot be forgotten. When the Club moved to Mumbai in 1971, it was on the brink of collapse. Jagdish Nanavati, almost single handed, revived it. His office became and remained the office of the Himalayan Club for almost three decades. He was Hon. Secretary for 21 years! During this period he introduced several youngsters to the mountains. He was Guru to all of them, encouraging them to climb, trek and work selflessly for the Club. He was President for eight years before retiring. He was then elected the President Emeritus. He also played the role of an Ombudsman for the Club.
A legend has gone – friend, philosopher and guide to HC and the climbing community. Many will have fond memories of time spent with him – his meticulousness, keen analytical mind and sharp wit. He will not only be remembered for his expertise in accurately determining whether a mountain has been climbed or not, but also as a very fine person, a unique human being.
We offer our sincere condolences to the Nanavati family. It is an end of an era for the Himalayan Club.
Rest in Peace
A condolence meeting will be held by the Himalayan Club on behalf of the mountaineering fraternity to pay our tribute and respect to Late Jagdish Nanavati, President Emeritus of the Himalayan Club.
Venue: Walchand Hirachand Hall, 4th Floor, Indian Merchants Chamber, Opposite Churchgate Station, Mumbai from 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm on Friday, 8th July, 2011

Keen Venturers and Trekkers invites all for a trek to one of the exotic forts filled with waterfalls.
Visapur fort (also called Visapoor fort) is a hill fort near Visapur village in Maharashtra, India. It is a part of the Lohagad-Visapur fortification.
Visapur Fort is larger and at a higher elevation than its twin fort- Lohagad. Within the fort are caves, cisterns of water, a decorated arch and old houses. These two roofless buildings surrounded by outer or veranda walls said to have once been Government offices. The ruins of a large stone-built house are known as the Peshwa’s palace. On the other side of the fort is a temple of a deity. Here is a big cistern. The disciples are constructing a good temple here. We can reside here for some time.
The beautiful waterfall on the way is the main attraction here. Surrounding scenery looks marvelous from the cave in the monsoon. From here we also see the pinnacles of Navara-Navari, Bhatoba and Irshaal, along with forts of Chanderi, Prabalgad and Malanggad and also Nakhind. This trekking is pleasant in all seasons.
