Interesting story. Mafia dad killed . She writes down how everyone in her town are part of the mafia

when she is 17 she goes to rome and gives the dairies to the chief prosecutor

She is taken into the witness protection program

During the trial the chief prosecutor is killed

She jump and kills her self at the end . Her aim if she dies her evidence will stand and the mafia loses

if she is alive she would be called a liar .

Mumbai 227 – July Updates

July has been yet another milestone for Mumbai 227. The focus for the month of July has been:

a. Making Mumbai 227 relevant in the current socio economic scenario via research, analysis and press statements.

b. Keep the flagship programs active.

Till date we have built successfully on our ‘Save the BMC school’ campaign by launching a successful agitation a Dadar based school. Our ‘Galli Galli Ration ke Adhikaar has successfully been replicated in D ward. The other wards are planning similar activities as well.

Below is an update of the Mumbai 227 network for the month of July:

1. Mumbai 227 supported candidate for MLC Teacher’s constituency, Shri Balasaheb Mhatre secured over 2000 votes. Kudos to our S Ward, H East ward, H West Ward and M East and M West wards who worked hard for the same.

2. Mumbai 227 JanSampark Kendra kits have been announced. These contain detailed contacts of municipal officers, a yearbook, information and supportings of our flagship programs, complaint letter formats, printed RTI forms on the Mumbai 27 letterhead, list of NGOs and contact details, list of experts in various fields and their contact, access to a central helpline for the same, etc., This kit is available at Rs. 1001/- The first lot of these kits have already been sold. Those who wish to order the same please book the kits in advance.

3. What is Mumbai 227? And many other questions and issues were discussed at the July 4^th meeting at Khar library. A list of responses to the questions can be viewed here: http://www.mumbai227.co.in/about-us/

4. Mumbai 227 has successfully led the Dadar Sayani road Hindi High school campaign which resulted in the suspension of three BMC officials. Our Press note can be viewed here: http://goo.gl/TLSSB

This agitation is in line with our ‘Save the BMC Schools’ effort that we have recently undertaken.

5. Within hours of the school bus strike being announced, Mumbai 227 launched its ‘ Make School Bus Strikes Illegal’ campaign which aims to bring school bus services under Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA). We began mobilising opinion by reaching out via email and smses and have received encouraging support. Since the strike has now been called off, we are taking the matter up with school bus associations and the government.

6. In line with our objective to enable corruption free governance, Mumbai 227 supported IAC’s demand for a Special Investigation (SIT) Team to probe tainted ministers. Over 50,000 emails and smses were sent in support. The turnout at Azad Maidan was great and the campaign is gaining consistent strength.

7. Mumbai 227 has condemned the construction of the Maharashtra Sadan and termed it as a Systematic Corruption Plan. Mumbai 227 is working towards taking up the issue with the governor to set up an independent body to investigate the scam.

Appeal for Donation – Sudhagad Fort Conservation Project..

Hello Friends,

This is regarding Sudhagad Fort Conservation Project, an Activity conducted by members of Trekshitiz Sanstha, Dombivali.

In the base villages of Sudhagad fort, it was observed that the School going children there did not have enough text books sets / other reference books available in the school. In an effort to help them, In 2006 our members started an activity under Project Sudhagad named ” ???? ??????? “. Under this, we started a Library in which we donated approximately 350 books on various topics to the Secondary school at paachchaapur village. These books are used by students (as well as villagers) residing in nearby 8 villages also, helping them in developing skills necessary for growth in life. Our team also makes it a point to keep an eye on the types of books read, library handling & the necessity of the students. We add to the Library, collection of quality books from time to time.

Even this year, on the occasion of 15 August 2012 , Independence Day, We are planning to add more books to the existing set in Library. Hence we request You all to Generously Donate in this Noble Activity in the form of New / Old books or any kind of Financial help to purchase New books for the Library. You can donate books in Marathi or English language that can be useful for students. Also all the students did not have text books of their own, so donation of school text books will also be of great aid. Along with books for the Library we would like to appeal You all to donate new / old textbooks for the Students of 9th and 10th standards as syllabus of some subjects have changed.

Trek : Rajgad Base to Shivatharghal, on 5th August 2012

Trek Details:

Dep. from Giridarshan Trekking Club Office on 5th August at 06.00 in the morning by Private Vehicle Arranged..

We will meet on 5th August, Sunday at 06.00 am at Giridarshan’s office.

Will go to ‘Khulashi ( base village near Rajgad )’ by bus.
Have a breakfast in between.
Start our trek.
Reach ‘Kelad’ in about 2.5 hours … Lunch …
Start towards shivatharghal via upandya ghaat…
climb down the ‘Sahyadri’ & reach ‘Ranawadi’ in about 2.5 hours.
Ranawadi to Shivatharghal is 7 k.m. & will go by bus.
Visit Shivartharghal ….
… & back to Pune by 9.30 pm.

(Please note that all the timings mentioned above are based on the
previous experience from the treks. The timings may differ.
Giridarshan will not be responsible, if the timings differ from the
schedule given above)

Difficult Level : Moderate.

Every body should carry : Tiffin (Lunch) , water bottle, spare dress.

This workshop aims at promoting studies in Cave Architecture, for students of Ancient Indian Culture, History, and Archaeology. It is designed to help students to understand the evolution and development of Cave Architecture in Western India.
Kanheri is a unique Buddhist site, which comprises of more than 100 caves. Kanheri caves are located in the northwest suburb of Mumbai and is surrounded by several archaeologically and historically important places like Magathane Caves, Mandapeshvara Caves, Sopara, Gaas, Jogeshvari Caves, Kondivate (Mahakali) Caves, Thane, and Kalyan,. Earliest evidence of the Buddhism at Kanheri can be dated to 1st century BC. The monastery at Kanheri was operational till at least 11th century CE. The site has left a deep impact not only on the development of Buddhism in the region, but also in shaping of the history of this region.
The site reveals regional history of Buddhism from 1st century BC to 11th century CE. Various myths, and legends are woven around the site. They are one of the most important sources of writing history. Kanheri is one of the best places to understand the development of Western Indian Buddhist Rock-Cut Architecture as here, the cave excavation activity went on till 7th century CE.
This workshop will be mainly focusing on research methodology in the studies in Western Indian Rock Cut Architecture.
