As a part of ECO Fest – Mocha TreeHugger’s World Environment Day celebration in association with The Root – we hope to revoke the idea of “your environment” through a panel discussion on the Urban Environment – Threats, Challenges & Opportunities.
This discussion will throw light on the relationship that ‘we’ the urban dwellers have with the city. The panel will include Kavita Mukhi, Rahul Srivastava, Kaiwan Mehta & Darryl D’monte, who are eminent citizens of Mumbai and have been addressing their concerns around the rapidly changing landscape of the city.
The aim is to address thought provoking questions like:
Are we paying too big a price in the name of urbanization? With shrinking public spaces, lack of direct engagement with nature, fast depleting heritage properties & absence of community participation in city related issues, have we taken our city for granted? What challenges we might be facing in the future & how well are we prepared?
This panel discussion hopes to bring forth a constructive re-look at “our environment” & the way ahead.
